A little bit about me

I have always thought there was more to this quote by Karl Lagerfeld. More than being a souvenir, photographs preserve a moment; a memory that can no longer be relived but can be forever cherished.

Hi! This is Suzanne but my friends call me Suzie! Let me thank you first for visiting my page, and if we are going to collaborate in the future, allow me to share a little bit about myself.

My parents immigrated to Scotland from China before I was born. While they were there, my parents didn’t exactly have a lot of opportunities to record memories whilst growing up and as heart-breaking as that was, it made me more interested in photography and the stories behind each rare photo I come across within our family. I have always been into the arts however I had never studied photography.

I was just a keen photographer who happens to be not too bad at it! My background is in fashion business and I guess this is where my eye for fine details comes from. I've been told that I just know how to “make things look beautiful ”. I guess that’s partially true, the main factor would be the bond created between the subject and I.

In Scotland, there are a LOT of photographers and for sure there is no shortage of talent too! However, I noticed that they are used to a certain style playing more with the darkness rather than the light. So I took a different approach and decided to elevate Scotland’s usual muted theme into something that’s light, cheerful, and airy. In 2014, I decided to start my own photography business aiming to provide a modern, cheerful and candid take on weddings with the light and airy colour pallet in mind. Since then, I am proud to have been trusted to and be part of at least 200 weddings and events, and I look forward to working with more in the future!

As someone who grew up with little photos to reminisce on, I understand the importance of having great photos to any couple or family. I live for the fact that my job involves producing beautiful and timeless images that take people back to what transpired in those specific moments.

When we work together, you can rest assured that I will be there not just as one of your wedding suppliers but rather a friend who you can trust to capture your priceless moments. You'll also catch me getting emotional and tearing up behind the camera, swiftly nabbing a sweetie or two from your sweeties table or having a deep conversation with one of your beloved family members. I pride myself in capturing and delivering quality, raw, and emotionally genuine photos. Where to start! We picked our photographer before any other supplier (even the venue) we knew years in advance we wanted Suzanne to be our wedding photographer, her style will never go 'out of fashion'. We were so happy we chose to do a pre wedding shoot at the family farm, she managed to turn what we seen as an untidy farm into the most amazing backdrop! The wedding day itself was just everything we wanted it to be, relaxed and somewhat unorganised, we hardly even knew Suzanne was there, which made the surprise of seeing our gallery even more special! If we could do it all again, I don't think we would change a single thing!

Suzanne shot our wedding back in September and I honestly couldn’t imagine the day without her now. What can we say about Suzanne....
Suzie, you were an absolute dream to work with, photographing not only the key moments in our day, but also capturing the intimate and personal little moments that made the day so magical. You were so easy to talk to, and directed us in a natural and fun way. We loved your attention to detail, and how you managed to photograph all the little touches that we had put together.
Unfortunately for us, our day came to an abrupt end, however you stayed around and photographed the reception, and really brought the night to life for us! We can't thank you enough for doing that.
